| Excellent SEO BookI've been studying SEO techniques and practicing it for about 2 years. I've scoured the internet for as much information as possible. What others have said is true. Yes, most of what's talked about in this book can be found on the internet for free, but it's a matter of finding ALL of the information and then knowing how to utilize said information for it to be effective. This book does an excellent job of putting all of this at your fingertips in a well laid out, very understandable manner.
I really don't think that SEO is meant for those who are brand new to web work. You should have knowledge of the different markup languages (html, css) and at a minimum an understanding of PHP, Javascript, SQL Databases, Apache/IIS, etc. Without this, you will find the terminology a bit difficult to comprehend or have absolutely no idea what the topics are talking about.
This book won't bring you instant success, as the search engines continuously change, but if you're looking to get up to speed on SEO this is a great start. The rest of the learning process is all trial-and-error.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who's seriously interested in getting started with SEO work. Read more...

Great book, but could be a little less wordyThe tools and tactics in this book are phenominal, and work exceptionally well. Asking skillful questions is what all salespeople should be doing nowadays. This book teaches you how to uncover your customers needs, so you can lead them towards a buying decision that works for THEM. It's an honest and ethical way to do business.
The only beef I have with this book is that it's way too wordy. It's almost as if the publishing company required the author to write 'X' number of pages, so the author just decided to fill the pages with a lot of useless nonsense. I'm all for a book repeating itself time and time again to help drive points home. We need to read something a number of times before it finally sinks in, but the repetition in this book is a bit mundane. That, and there's too much filler in this book. I'd LOVE to read a condensed, nuts & bolts version of this book. The book as it is, is a bit much.
I can't say I wouldn't recommend this book, because it's full of very useful information. If you trim some of the fat, it's one of the best sales books you can read. Read more...

This Book is a Werewolf Holding a ChainsawThat's about the only way I can sum up how awesome and powerful this book is for writing web copy that sells. Richard Bayan successfully organizes over six thousand synonyms and useful phrases into one slim book, which has never left my desk since I bought it.
What I love about this book is that it's much more than just a thesaurus, it contains a variety of useful phrases that work beautifully with basic copywriting strategies. The fundamentals of writing sales copy is simple: Grab their attention, build desire, create a sense of urgency, and call them to action. This book is a perfect complement to copywriting guides because it offers countless suggestions on how to word each step of your sales writing.
Some of the more original inclusions in the book include the section on justifying a high product or service price, and how to flatter the reader. While some of the suggestions (benefits, call to action, elmininating risk) are quite common, you'll no doubt find phrases that make you say, "Why didn't I think of that before?" Buy the book today, and you'll also tell yourself, "I can't believe I've been missing out on this." Read more...
